Meeting in Barcelona
After the Bicentenary of Saint John Bosco’s birth team, coordinating the activities of the Salesian Youth Movement, returned to their regular meetings. From 19 to 22 November in the Salesian house of Marti Codolar in Barcelona (Spain) took place 11th General Assembly of SYM Europe. 13 countries were represented: Spain, Portugal, Italy, France, Belgium, Great Britain, Germany, Poland, Austria, Slovakia, Slovenia, Croatia and Hungary. Participants estimated previous SYM meeting in Turin, so as to discuss the line for action of SYM in Europe.
Congress gave the opportunity to present the next World Youth Day (WYD Krakow 2016). Fr Wojciech Krawczyk, youth ministry delegate of the Krakow Province, tried to explain how SYM groups can participate in WYD. Young people expressed their willingness to join meeting on Wednesday, 27 July next year, organized during WYD.
During the congress the new “Small Team” were elected (Blažka from Slovenia, Carina from Austria, Anne-Florence from France) who with the support from dicastery for The Youth will animate activities of SYM Europe in the next three years in the context of the European SYM Confronto.
